Grand Canyon National Park

Views from the South RIm

Grand Canyon Photos

These photos are from a cold November day with Louie at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Stopped here on our road trip eastbound to Florida. These are some views from the South Upper Rim of the Canyon and the Colorado River below. There were many different lighting conditions throughout the cloudy day, with snowstorms passing through the North side of the Canyon. It was my first time there. It is pretty big. The colors are incredible in the light and the blues and purples in the distance through the vast atmosphere from rim to rim.

Was surprised to see how much life there was at the Grand Canyon. It doesn’t seem like a very habitable environment. There doesn’t seem to be a tremendous amount of plant life. Louie and I did come face to face with a group of Bighorn Sheep. Louie kept his cool but they knew we were there and had quite the stare-down. We walked around and everybody carried on with their day.

Grand Canyon

A leisurely twelve-mile stroll with a dog and a camera along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. No doubt a sense of awe and is at a scale that is hard to describe. Beyond vast. Did you know its over 20 degrees warmer at the bottom of the canyon than at the top? It’s true.
